The Vet On West Main offers advanced veterinary diagnostics to identify the underlying cause of your pet’s medical condition, and can detect early signs of pet health problems before they develop.

Veterinary Diagnostics

pet xray

We strive to identify the underlying cause of your pet’s health condition, and customize effective treatments. We often use digital x-rays as a valuable diagnostic tool. Digital x-rays are a safe and non-invasive method to capture digital images of your pet’s internal organs and bones. They provide many advantages including:

  • Full body imaging
  • Dental imaging
  • Preliminary report in 1 hour or less
  • Review by a certified veterinary radiologist—3 hours or less
  • Images can be provided to you on disk, if needed.

Health Collar Monitor for Dogs

The Voyce system is an innovative collar monitor which detects and tracks your pet’s respiratory rate, heart rate, activity level, and more. The collar sends the information directly to our office. This is a valuable diagnostic tool, and the information can be viewed on a smartphone, too. The collars are available for rental at our veterinary hospital.

Onsite Veterinary Laboratory

Laboratory testing performed during your pet’s wellness care exam provides baseline health characteristics specific to your pet, and can play a role in the early detection of health problems. Our veterinary hospital hosts an onsite laboratory which allows us to perform rapid and accurate diagnostic testing. A majority of our laboratory tests can be analyzed the day of your pet’s visit. A sample of our laboratory testing includes:

  • Blood chemistry panel
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Complete blood count
  • Liver profile
  • Fecal analysis
  • Heartworm test
  • Feline leukemia
  • Feline Aids
  • Parvo
  • Urinalysis
